Ilona Kovach

Founding partner

Most of my clients have never been to a hearing. My job is to make sure the first one isn't a surprise.

I handle denied claims and the hearings that follow them. Before opening this office, I represented injured workers at comp hearings around Toledo.

I grew up in the Birmingham neighborhood, and I speak Hungarian with clients and families who prefer it.

How Ilona prepares a hearing

Before a hearing I read the insurer's file the way the hearing officer will, and I look for the one record that answers its objection. Usually it exists; it just hasn't been sent to the right place.

I meet each client before the hearing to go through the questions they'll be asked, in the order they'll come.
